Izzy and Her Magic Potion

IZZY and Her Magic Potion

Izzy, the porcupine, was busy all the time.  What her family and other porcupine community members didn't know, was what  she was building for herself behind the scenes.

They all focused and talked about her behind her back, for it was likely that they did not want to face their own realities. It seemed to be easier to blame Izzy for all the miss doings and some of the wrong goings in their lives than perhaps taking a look at what was taking place in their own lives.

Izzy, on the other hand, although it hurt her feelings greatly, decided to turn around and secretly,  quietly, build her own little Empire.

An Empire that would raise and elevate her soul in unimaginable ways, that in time, others all around the world would love to reach as well. Something else  they did not know was that despite their criticism and talking of Izzy, in turn, when they discovered what she was doing, they would want to follow her footsteps, but not yet... not... quite... yet...

She woke up and put her flowery apron on and walked towards the miniature kitchen that she had, where she prepared her magic potion. It was a combination of essences, herbs and spices and several drops, drops and more drops of love and joy and a few other secret ingredients.

A syrup that would not only be palatable but also of great yummy to taste. It was going to be a potent potion of upliftment, that would also bring magic and awareness in  unforseen and delightful  ways.

In the background, she felt that all her family would talk about and think was, that she was not moving forward with her life, for she was not making any money. At least not the thousands and thousands of dollars that were expected from her to receive or to proclaim, as she should work in a way they thought she ought to work.

Their expectations of her were never met, nor would they ever be. However, it was still a mystery of why Izzy, even though so busy, would never make any money, yet instead her riches came from a different source, the real source. A source so magical, so bountiful, so enchanting and exhilarating, that not one penny nor all the millions and millions of dollars of the world would replace this wonderful treasure and riches. A secret she would keep until the end.

Yet it was something that everybody was seeking and searching for, in many different forms of attainment.

"Ah," she thought! "If they only knew, how magical they were, misery would subside to exist in all its facets and forms in this beautiful Earth."

She grabbed a large wooden spoon, dipped it in the pot and stirred it a few more times. Then she lifted the filled elaborated dripping spoon and slurped, tasted it, felt it and said:
"Ah! yes! It's ready. It's perfect."

A broad smile covered her face as she grabbed the ceramic container for it to be sealed and aged. She put a sticker on it with beautiful flowers and hearts that said:

"For my family, Humanity to be used in 2044."

Celebrating May & Mother's Day

Celebrating May & Mother's Day   It's May already. We are almost halfway into the year. Can you believe it? Time flies by.  Everything is fully blooming right now, offering us an array  of  bright and beautiful colors in a diversity of shapes and forms.  Nature can truly be mesmerizing and enchanting. This is the month we celebrate Mother's Day. In Guatemala it is always celebrated on the 10th of May regardless of the day it falls  in . In the US it is held on the second Sunday in May,  which is this coming Sunday May 11th. This day and perhaps every day  it   is important and valuable to celebrate our mothers who gave us life.  Life blesses me with an  incredible mother. Even though many times throughout life we had our differences.  S h e was quite a remarkable woma n  sand wish I would've gotten to know her better. I really miss her sometimes. Many times she comes to me in my dreams. So...

Tribute to My Mother

Tribute to My Mother Helen Eileen Overa Thompson de Brose My mother and I...  the Beginning It's been 2 years today July 21st, since my mother passed away, Helen Eileen Overa Thompson de Brose. I will never forget that day. she had been in a nursing home for quite some time due to dealing with dementia and other issues. the last years I had spent time every week doing video calls with her through Zoom, and I used to sing to her "Over the Rainbow" every time, her favorite song. She many times responded with tears in her eyes, saying, "it's so nice." Thank goodness she was always cognitive, you could have a wonderful conversation with her and it was always pleasant to talk to her, all the way to the end.  However, she did not remember who you were sometimes or where she was or what she was doing. She forgot everything that had happened a moment ago.  I also tried to call her every other day and just tell her that I loved her and would also sing to her over the...

Happy July & Misummer Dream

Happy July Midsummer Dream   We are in the middle of July. Summer has been wonderful so far, with some twists and turns and some really hot days, yet still fun and amusing. How has it been for you so far? We are now enjoying the Farmers Market, which is very petite here, with several new vendors, some selling the best yummiest peaches I have ever tried, others have a delightful sourdough bread, and many have freeze dried items which seems to be the fad at this time. What activities outside of work are you enjoying?   Sometimes we forget to go outside and play. It is so important to have balance in life. Many times, we get so wrapped up in trying to make things happen that we forget to allow things to happen, to just sit back and enjoy the ride of life instead of stressing about it all the time, sometimes to the point of burnout.    overstressed? How can we find more balance in life, between work and play, sleep and exercise a...
