Celebrating May & Mother's Day

Celebrating May &
Mother's Day

It's May already. We are almost halfway into the year. Can you believe it? Time flies by.  Everything is fully blooming right now, offering us an array of bright and beautiful colors in a diversity of shapes and forms.  Nature can truly be mesmerizing and enchanting.

This is the month we celebrate Mother's Day. In Guatemala it is always celebrated on the 10th of May regardless of the day it falls in. In the US it is held on the second Sunday in May,  which is this coming Sunday May 11th.

This day and perhaps every day it is important and valuable to celebrate our mothers who gave us life.

Life blesses me with an incredible mother. Even though many times throughout life we had our differences. She was quite a remarkable woman sand wish I would've gotten to know her better. I really miss her sometimes.

Many times she comes to me in my dreams. Sometimes her soul's presence shows up in a way of a song, a word, a number that is symbolic and meaningful, and many other forms.

I still get teary eyed sometimes
when memories about her flood my mind.

How is it with you?

How is your relationship with your mother?

Sometimes many of us get to have challenges with our mothers, valuable lessons.

There were many times when I did not get along with my mother, long periods of time here and then, yet she was always there and knew what to do for me in many crossroads in my life.   It was a true honor to have her as my mother. She always supported me in my career choices, even though they switched here and there.  One of those choices was my art classes quite a while ago.

Here is my latest art piece I am working on that still needs a few extra brush strokes.

Healing & Celebration

Coincidentally, this Mother's Day falls a few hours before the Flower Full Moon that takes place on Monday the 12th.  The Flower Full moon is named so, because it is the time when everything is blooming and growing.

"There’s something symbolic about honoring mothers beneath the Flower Moon. Just as the moon represents the feminine in many cultures, and just as it influences tides, fertility, and cycles, this particular moon—bursting with floral energy—seems perfectly timed for recognizing the nurturing, life-giving spirit of motherhood.

The Flower Moon invites you to reflect on what’s blooming in your life and to honor those who have helped you grow. Under its silver light, gratitude blossoms, and memories are made.

So this Mother’s Day weekend, give your mom the stars—literally or figuratively—and let the Flower Moon light the way."

Instead of a meditation please enjoy this wonderful song and lyrics from the movie Mama Mia 2. A beautiful and very healing movie on motherhood.

I super highly recommend viewing this scene, as it is breathtakingly beautiful.

Lastly, let's celebrate our mothers in every way, bringing in those wonderful memories that we shared with them throughout our lives. Many of us may no longer have our mothers with us on this physical realm, yet they are always with us in spirit. The footprints they have left us are forevermore and those moments where we cried our tears and they kissed our forheads saying "everything is going to be alright," are treasurable. So much is engraved in our hearts of a bond that nothing and no one could ever sever that cord. It is a deep rooted, scared love like non other.

Let us also remember that in the middle of it all mothers are humans. May we all have peace and full forgiveness in our hearts with our mothers and set ourselves free.

Qualifying for the Olympics

QUALIFYING for the OLYMPICS Here's to Sports The Olympics have brought many memories to my mind, which was one of the best periods of my life, when I was a swimmer. In 1975 I qualified to go to the Olympics in Canada the following year 1976. (Mark Spitz time) I still remember when I received that phone call. I believe it was a phone call or a telegram but I'm very sure. I really think it was a phone call where I was told that I was the only swimmer who had qualified to go to the Olympics in Canada in 1976. My circumstances did not allow me to go at the time. I started swimming when I was young but didn't swim competitively in a more serious way, until I was 12 years old. I used to do meets in school and Country Club etc. Then, my mother did not know what to do with me because I was so hyperactive, and she decided to join me in a swim team. I remember that day clearly, when I arrived at the Olympic pool that was 50 meters long and stepped into a circle of all the res...

CELEBRATING 42 Years of Life

Celebrating 42 years Swiss Alps ~ Groenenbach, Allgau Today is my 42nd Anniversary. I remember clearly 42 years ago yesterday when I arrived to the most amazing healing clinic in Grönenbach , Allgäu, Germany. My battle with alcohol had come to an end and I was ready to change my life. However, I arrived to Munich three days prior to entering the clinic. Immediately I thought I do not have a problem since I was sitting in with new friends from Argentina with 7 whiskeys in front of me and I was not drunk. Nevertheless, 3 days later I found myself in great need of help. I was wondering where I was going to land, since I had had been in other not so pleasant places before seeking help. To my surprise this place was heaven on Earth. I arrived in the most expensive taxi, I have ever paid in my entire life, since I had missed the last train from Munich to Groenenbach. A kind gentleman in his forties, received me with a smile on his face and said, "Ich bin deinen Patin," (I am yo...
