Missy and Her Special Secret

Missy and Her Special Secret

Missy the tiny mouse was rubbing her tired eyes as she laid in bed staring at the ceiling.

It was 1 a.m. and the neighbors upstairs were up again. They usually were up until 1 to 3 or 4 in the morning almost everyday... what they did not seem to notice was, how it was all affecting everyone's sleep and therefore everyone's life.

She cuddled herself in her star glittered patterned pajamas, boasted a sigh, then pulled herself out of bed.

What to do? Should she go upstairs and complain for the 'enth' time? Should she tell them once again after she had told them 20-30 times before and nothing had changed?

She put on her warm gentle pink slippers and walked towards her youngsters. She went first to Marquis who was also rubbing his tinsy bitsy eyes, in his little wooden bed.  Lily was covering her ears and Berkley the tiniest was boasting a long yawn: "When is this going to stop, Mommy?"

She told them she would like to meet them in the small living room space. She then grabbed her purple flowered woolen robe and went to sit in her cute wooden rocking chair and began to knit away, waiting for the rest of the family to meet with her.

This situation had been affecting the whole family, their work, their studies, their health, their daily lives.

The person in charge of the household upstairs did not seem to become aware or conscious of it.... Igual nada...

It affected each one of their little souls and kept them awake not allowing them to pursue their goals and dreams on a daily basis for they were always tired and exhausted.

"What to do?" She pondered, as she continued knitting a light blue shawl for a new coming baby, a new member of the family from cousin Merle.

As they all sat around forming a circle in the living room the little fire place was a lit match under a small little  iron oven. From there they lit a candle on an antique candleholder and placed it in the middle of the circle.

"What if?" Marquis said, "we send them a Happy meal? maybe that'll work?"

"That's nice of you to think that butter cakes, we already send that Cheery cherry pie, remember?" Missy said.

"What if? " Berkley added, "we sing them songs. We sing them pretty songs before bedtime so they go to bed early?'"

"But we already send all those lullabies and none of it worked, " She said, "Oh my! What are we going to do?"

"Maybe" Missy added, "it's time for us to move out. This has been intolerable for some time and we can no longer further this."

"Awww," Lily said, "but we love it here so much, we love the garden and the neighbors and all our friends. Maybe there is another solution..."

"We already tried so many things," Berkley yawned.

All of a sudden there was a quiet rustling sound coming from the background, Nana the grandmother came from behind the door.  Because she was older and almost deaf it did not affect her as much, although it still uneased her, energetically and made her uncomfortable to see the stress her family was going through.

"Now, now," she said, "let's think about this thoroughly, more calmly."

They all became silent as they listened attentively.

"I have an idea," she said.

"Lets all hold our hands together," she went on, "Lets Pray for them. Lets send them happy thoughts, peaceful thoughts."

"Pray for them!" They all yelled at once, like an echo of sounds and voices, "but look what they have done!"

"But grandma! " Marquis resisted.

"Shshshsh, listen," Nana said.

"Let's send happy thoughts, dear ones,  happy thoughts, prayers and happy thoughts."

They againl fell into a deep sounding silence, not understanding the magic that Grandma was trying to work with.

"Now," she continued, " lets close our eyes  and  also send them thoughts of gratitude, sending it with all the love in our hearts!"

"Gratitude!" Lilly renounced, "but she has caused us so much harm!  So many sleepless nights!"

"That may be true," Nana said, "yet they have also given us a home to live in and in other ways they have been respectful, and are good people, let's focus on the all the good things about them, shall we?"

Then Missy stared at her mother,  "Are you sure Mama that this is going to work?"

"Trust me," the kind old lady mouse answered. As they continued to be gathered in a circle.

Then she pulled a bag from  under the nearest drawer and placed it in the center of the circle. As everybody looked at it, their eyes grew wide open. It had a big white sticker on it, that said... 'EAR PLUGS.'

"Ear plugs!!! "Marquise shrieked, "I hate earplugs!!"

"Me toooo," said Berkley, "they hurt my tiny little ears."

"Now, now... " Nana answered. "it's only for a while, plus these are very gentle ones. It will help us sleep better, therefore have better lives, just temporarily... "

"In the meantime we will continue daily to pray for them, sending thoughts of gratitude and see the good things that  they have done for us, with love. Are you all in?"

Hesitantly, grumpily and muffling, they all nodded and agreed.

II

Three weeks had gone by. During this time, the gracious mouse family became closer and closer together as they sent happy thoughts, peaceful and thoughts of gratitude to the family upstairs, in hopes that it would help their souls feel better and help raise their consciousness.

After diligently sending this from their hearts, when a full month had been completed, a miracle ensued.  After 10 p.m. each night there was no longer any noise coming from upstairs. It was completely silent. There was a certain peacefulness that had embraced the whole household upstairs and downstairs.

After another week, all of Missy's family stood in the doorway. They had packed their items in tiny little flower printed suitcases. She had broomed the space neatly, tightly and had left the place tidy.

They all looked around every corner of this place that they had called home for quite some time, a place where they had shared tears, laughter, warmth and so much love, and endurance.

Missy pulled her sweater before her and took a last long look from the door.

"I hope we don't have to go through this one again, with the next place we live in",  little Berkley said.

"Oh no, my love,: Missy answered. "Nana was right, we all learned a valuable lesson that does not need to be repeated. Once and for all."

"Thanks Mama," she said to her mother, as Nana stood next to her with her love engraved tiny wooden cane.

She looked at her as she nodded, while they all walked away never to look back ever again...

Qualifying for the Olympics

QUALIFYING for the OLYMPICS Here's to Sports The Olympics have brought many memories to my mind, which was one of the best periods of my life, when I was a swimmer. In 1975 I qualified to go to the Olympics in Canada the following year 1976. (Mark Spitz time) I still remember when I received that phone call. I believe it was a phone call or a telegram but I'm very sure. I really think it was a phone call where I was told that I was the only swimmer who had qualified to go to the Olympics in Canada in 1976. My circumstances did not allow me to go at the time. I started swimming when I was young but didn't swim competitively in a more serious way, until I was 12 years old. I used to do meets in school and Country Club etc. Then, my mother did not know what to do with me because I was so hyperactive, and she decided to join me in a swim team. I remember that day clearly, when I arrived at the Olympic pool that was 50 meters long and stepped into a circle of all the res...

CELEBRATING 42 Years of Life

Celebrating 42 years Swiss Alps ~ Groenenbach, Allgau Today is my 42nd Anniversary. I remember clearly 42 years ago yesterday when I arrived to the most amazing healing clinic in Grönenbach , Allgäu, Germany. My battle with alcohol had come to an end and I was ready to change my life. However, I arrived to Munich three days prior to entering the clinic. Immediately I thought I do not have a problem since I was sitting in with new friends from Argentina with 7 whiskeys in front of me and I was not drunk. Nevertheless, 3 days later I found myself in great need of help. I was wondering where I was going to land, since I had had been in other not so pleasant places before seeking help. To my surprise this place was heaven on Earth. I arrived in the most expensive taxi, I have ever paid in my entire life, since I had missed the last train from Munich to Groenenbach. A kind gentleman in his forties, received me with a smile on his face and said, "Ich bin deinen Patin," (I am yo...

Melilla and her Magical Friend

Melilla and Her Magical Friend It was the crack of dawn. Melilla was sitting at the porch. She had a blank look starring into the horizon. It had been a long and dreary night.  She sat on her rocking wooden peach swing, dangling her feet, mesmerized by the beauty of the morning, as she wiped her tears that fell like silent drops into the mug of her morning tea. The road had been too long. Her muscles ached and her heart churned. How long was this going to take place? she wondered. As she looked down and stared at the floor, swinging gently back and forth. Carrying the world on her shoulders. All of a sudden this tiny glimmer of light came flying towards her and sat on  her  right lap. It was very diamondly sparkly.  As she got closer, she saw that this sparkly dangling light had tiny baby wings on it. Silent giggles arrived at her eardrums, laughter and joy secretly reached her heart from. It was a Fairy. Althought she always had wished for...
